A magical fusion of Persian, Iranian, and Kurdish traditions in a stunning wedding at Villa Grazioli

In the heart of the Castelli Romani, the wedding at Villa Grazioli hosted a celebration that skilfully blended rich Persian, Iranian and Kurdish traditions with refined elegance. Sam, the Iranian groom who grew up in Germany, and Azheen, the Kurdish bride who is also a naturalised US citizen, chose Italy to celebrate their love.

They relied on the expertise of wedding planner Etis Prifti from The Wedding Trail, who works in Tuscany, Umbria and Rome.

The ceremony was a cultural journey, with the Sofreh Aghd at the centre of the celebration. This Persian ritual is rich in symbolism and captured the hearts and attention of the guests. The bridesmaids’ bright dresses brought joy and colour, and the carefully curated wildflower arrangements by Beatrice Ramirez of Erbeefior embellished the atmosphere, paying heartfelt tribute to Azheen’s father, a nature-inspired painter.

The outdoor reception turned into a vibrant party, enlivened by a musical selection curated by Alberto Tozzi, who provided elegant and rhythmic accompaniment throughout. The highlight of the evening was the cutting of the cake, illuminated by sparkling fountains that created a magical atmosphere under the Roman sky.
