Chris & Angie: A Wedding of Tradition and Roots at MorisFarms

Some stories touch my heart more than others, and Chris and Angelica’s is one that I will carry with me forever. After spending over fifteen years in the wedding planning industry, I have learned that the most beautiful weddings are not necessarily the biggest or most expensive, but rather those where every detail reflects the couple’s true personalities. This Morisfarms wedding Tuscany was exactly that: a homecoming, a return to roots and family.

Chris Moris grew up among his family’s vineyards in Tuscany and took his first steps at Fattoria Poggetti, where his family still produces exceptional wine today. Life then took him to the United States, where he met Angelica — a beautiful woman of Mexican heritage who stole his heart. When they decided to get married, Chris knew exactly where he wanted to be: back where it all began.

I’ve known the Moris family for years and have worked with them at their other estate, so when Chris contacted me about planning his wedding, it felt like I was planning a celebration for my own family. He wanted to marry Angelica in the Cathedral of San Cerbone (Massa Marittima), where he was baptised, and celebrate on the terrace of the family’s winery, where he played as a child.

Fifty guests travelled from the United States, China, Mexico and Italy to witness the wedding. They stayed at Santa Laura and the historic Palazzo Malfatti, where Angelica got ready for the occasion.

The Cathedral of San Cerbone was transformed into a vision of pure white, resembling Pantone’s colour of the year, and exuded timeless elegance. Seeing Chris waiting for his bride in the church where he was baptised reminded me why I love my job. This wasn’t just any destination wedding in Tuscany; this was a man bringing his love home.

After the ceremony, the MorisFarms wedding celebration in Tuscany moved to the family terrace, where the magic truly happened. Mexican mariachis, arranged by Professor Guido Menestrina, filled the countryside with joyful music in honour of Angelica’s heritage. The traditional mariachi songs echoed through the vineyards where Chris had played as a child. Pure emotion.

Eventi&Cucina provided premium catering, combining Tuscan tradition with international flavours. Infinito Amore transformed the space with stunning floral arrangements. As the sun set, the celebration continued with live music and a DJ, while Preludio’s rustic yet elegant furniture rentals added to the atmosphere.

What made this wedding special was the sense of coming full circle. Chris chose to pledge his love where his story began. Angelica embraced her husband’s roots by celebrating with mariachis in a Tuscan vineyard.
