Some couples know exactly who they are. Daniel and Courtney were that kind of couple from their very first conversation.

He’s German and she’s American, and they both live in New York and have a clear vision of what matters most. Planning an international wedding at Podere La Specola in Tuscany meant bringing together eighty guests from all over the world and ensuring that each and every one of them felt genuinely looked after.

With friends and family flying in from Germany, the United States and beyond, we started where we always start: with people, not logistics. The evening before the wedding, we gathered everyone for an informal welcome dinner. Authentic Tuscan food and good wine — no fuss. It was the kind of evening where strangers became friends before the big day had even begun. For Daniel and Courtney, that was non-negotiable.

A stunning venue with a personal touch

The wedding itself took place at Podere La Specola, a beautiful estate nestled in the heart of the Tuscan countryside and surrounded by rolling hills and golden light. The styling was clean and considered — white and green, refined yet relaxed. Fresh flowers from Erbe e Fior and Gardenia Piante e Fiore brought the tables to life, and the catering from Tonino di Cortona offered the very best of authentic Tuscan cuisine — food that feels both elevated and deeply rooted in this land.

One detail I particularly loved was: Daniel’s German heritage was honoured with a carefully curated craft beer service, with every style poured into the correct glass. It sounds like a small thing. It wasn’t. The international guests loved it.

The music was in the hands of Britpops Band — lively, a little unexpected, and completely them.

Why this wedding will stay with me

This is the kind of celebration that reminds me why I do this job. It was intimate yet grand, personal yet polished. When planning an international destination wedding in Tuscany, it’s not finding beautiful venues or talented suppliers that’s the real challenge — it’s weaving everything together so that it tells one coherent story, from the first welcome dinner to the last dance.
