Three Days of Wedding at Le Filigare, Tuscany

Mary and David came from the United States with sixty guests and one clear idea: they didn’t want a traditional wedding. They wanted to have their wedding at Le Filigare in Tuscany and spend three days there, not just pass through.

Le Filigare, a working winery in the Chianti hills, was the perfect venue for this. The vines, the cellar and the estate all had stories to tell. The challenge was to make their guests part of it.

Private vans handled all transfers, from the airport to the estate and back again. Nobody had to think about logistics. From the moment they landed, everything was taken care of.

Day One: Pizza, Wine, and No Agenda

The first evening was deliberately low-key. There was pizza from Brindapino, a wine tasting of Le Filigare’s own labels and long tables for open conversation. It was the kind of evening where a group of sixty people from across the Atlantic could actually start to relax. It worked.

Day Two: The Wedding

The ceremony and reception were elegant yet relaxed. White and green were evident throughout — in the florals by Erbe e Fior, the table settings and the overall feel of the day.

The decorations went one step further, with clusters of grapes from Le Filigare’s own vineyards incorporated into the design. The estate wasn’t just a venue — it was an integral part of the wedding itself.

Catering Impero built the menu around local produce. Pici, tortelli and peposo — traditional Tuscan dishes, prepared correctly. Before the cake was cut, Mary and David assembled and decorated it themselves. This is one of those rituals that sounds simple but has a big impact: two people spending a few quiet minutes putting the finishing touches to something they are about to share with all their loved ones.

The music alternated between the live performance of the Florence Art Ensemble and the dancefloor energy of DJ Lothar. Hair styling was provided by Giamma Art Hair and make-up by Daniele Carlo. Lovvia filmed the day.

When it rained, the party moved into the estate’s winter garden. The atmosphere, if anything, improved.

Day Three: San Gimignano

The last day belonged to the road. We enjoyed a private tour of San Gimignano with Elena Morelli, a guide who made the medieval town feel alive rather than like a museum. The day ended at Dondolini, which arguably makes the best gelato in the world.

Sixty people flew back to the United States with full stomachs, sore feet, and something harder to define.
